Caroline Gormley

Business Administration Manager and Owner

Caroline has worked in a number of different technical and business roles in Ireland and Scotland over the past 20 years since graduating from Galway University. In the back of her mind she always had a desire to start her own business.

As a mother of two boys, she used private nursery for her own children and saw the benefits they got in terms of confidence, social skills and educational input. Having completed a series of business startup courses, she spotted a niche in the market in Bo'ness for a childcare business, and so The Kidz Stop was born.

Caroline is responsible for the administration and financial running of the business. She also takes a keen interest in the children and works with Eleanor and the staff to ensure that The Kidz Stop offers the very best level of care possible.

Eleanor Aitken

General Manager of the Nursery and Out of School Club

Eleanor has worked in childcare for 35 years. Her working experience extends from playgroups and primary schools to additional needs centres and hospital care. Eleanor has held the position of Nursery Manager in the private sector for over 15 years. In 2003 she joined Caroline in Bo'ness to open The Kidz Stop Nursery and Out of School Club.

One of the key areas of focus for Eleanor is to ensure that her staff team are well trained and confident with current thinking and changes in legislation in childcare. Using her Trained to Train qualification, she presents a full schedule of in-house training to extend their knowledge and understanding on an ongoing basis.

As a mother and grandmother, Eleanor understands the ever changing needs and expectations of families and strives to ensure that your children's care is our priority.

Marianne Doak

Out of School Club Manager

Marianne qualified in childcare eight years ago with an SVQ3 in Childcare and Education. She has worked with The Kidz Stop since we opened in 2003. During that time she worked with all age groups within the nursery. Marianne has been a senior member of staff for four years with particular responsibility for the day to day running of the Out of School Club.

In 2008 Marianne started to work towards SVQ4 in Childcare and Education in order to increase her knowledge and understanding of her role as a senior member of staff. She plans to complete her SVQ4 in summer 2010.

Debbie Murray

Senior Officer

Debbie has worked at The Kidz Stop for the last three years since graduating from Falkirk College with her SVQ 3 in Childcare and Education. During her time with us, she has worked with all age groups within the Nursery and Out of School Club from babies up to twelve year olds.

Debbie is currently the senior member of staff in the upper unit with particular responsibility for leading the team in the Pre-school room in preparing the children for their graduation on to school.

Jennifer Hastie

Senior Officer

Jennifer qualified with an SVQ2 in Childcare and Education 12 years ago and worked in private and school nurseries in Glasgow before coming to The Kidz Stop 4 years ago. Jennifer is currently studying for her SVQ3 which she hopes to complete in autumn 2010.

In the last year, Jennifer has taken on senior responsibility for the lower unit including Infants, Babies and Tweenies. She leads a team of staff in the Tweenie room (1½ - 2½ years) in helping the children to learn the social skills of sharing and caring for others in preparation for moving on to the bigger rooms.
